Mother Nature's colors in our flag

The Brazilian flag has 4 colors:

VERDE (green), AMARELO (yellow),

AZUL (blue) and BRANCO (white)

Each color has its meaning.

• VERDE: green color is a symbol of the flora and fauna of Brazil

• AMARELO: yellow represents gold

• AZUL & BRANCO: blue globe and white stars symbolize the night sky.

Fun facts:

1) Each star corresponds to a Brazilian Federal Unit. Some bigger than others because they are sized in proportion relative to the State's geographic size.

2) The curved band brings the national motto "Ordem e Progresso" which means "Order and Progress"
